The Starting Line announce their return.

AbsolutePunk announced that The Starting Line is back from their “hiatus”. They're going on tour with All Time Low in the summer and new music is sure to be announced soon.

Below is a statement from Matt, the guitarist of The Starting Line:
"I just happened to read all the tweets and postings about everyone’s excitement about the TSL “break” being over. First off, I’d like to thank everyone for the excitement and enthusiasm, it really means a lot! It wasn’t intended to sound like an official announcement that the break is over, we all felt like it was over once we started playing shows again, but I guess hadn’t publicly acknowledged so.

So to address it:
As you’ve probably noticed, TSL has become slightly more active, and we even have a few new songs in the works. The main reason behind the break was to take some time and evaluate things, touring for 8+ years got really exhausting and we all needed to take a step away to see if TSL was something that we all still loved and wanted to pursue. After taking a much needed break, we’re all at a point where we truly love and appreciate what we were able to do together, and genuinely miss playing shows, writing, and being around one another.

Playing shows with the band, and even just getting together to hang out has been more fun than ever, everything is feeling great and natural, and seems as exciting as when we first started out. There’s just an undeniable chemistry and energy present that seemed to be lacking near the end of things.

That being said, we’re playing more shows and writing new music, but there’s no specific timeline that we’re on, nor do we have any real plans (as of right now), to be touring full time. That doesn’t mean that we won’t be playing shows in your city/town, it just means that we probably won’t be taking a traditional approach to touring and being an active band. All of us have various things and commitments happening in our lives that aren’t really conducive to year round touring. However, we do plan on playing shows more frequently and (slowly) working on a new album at some point. We’re also trying to figure out a way to get to some of the cities that we haven’t played since we went on “break” (talking to all of you on the West Coast.)"

So check back in a couple of weeks to see if I have those photos posted :)

Devin Ingelido announces his departure from VersaEmerge.

Hello Vultures
It is with sadness that we would like to announce that May 7th will be Devin’s last show with VersaEmerge. There are absolutely no hard feelings and we 100 percent support his decision to leave and be with his wife and newborn baby. If you plan on coming out to see us on the remaining dates of the Alternative Press tour please say hello to Devin and give him a fond farewell.
VersaEmerge will continue on and as strong as ever. We are excited to head to the UK and Europe next month for our first headline tour overseas and to begin writing new songs this summer. We cannot wait to see everyone!

-Blake and Sierra

Here is a special message from Devin…
Four years and many memories later, it has finally come time for me to throw in my tour towel. Recently I married the love of my life and witnessed the birth of my son and find it harder and harder to leave the two most amazing things in my life. As a band we have accomplished so many things together and in no way will I regret how far we have grown as a band. With that being said, I encourage each and every one of you to continue to support Blake and Sierra through the rest of their musical endeavors as VersaEmerge. Despite me leaving I know deep in my heart that Versa will continue to translate their perspective on life and transcribe it into the amazing sounds you know and latch on to. Thank you all for all the support, love, and on going excitement you have shown the band and I through all the things that tried to bring us down. And as for me.. I will continue to pursue being the best husband and father and the rest will fall into place. God Bless!

-Devin Ingelido

Such Gold releases a statement concerning the Manscout Jamboree Tour.

Such Gold pulled out of the Manscout Jamboree Tour before its start due to undiscussed reasons. Rumors began to fly that lead singer, Ben Kotin, had been stabbed outside of a party, and Kotin has now confirmed the rumors. Kotin was apparently stabbed multiple times and is lucky to be alive. There is no word on when he will be able to continue on in the band, but friends of Such Gold will be filling in on vocals on upcoming tours. You can read a statement from Ben Kotin below below:

"First of all I would like to apologize for pulling out of the Manscout Jamboree tour so last minute but I assure you that we would not bail on such an amazing tour without a good reason.  There have been a lot of rumors flying around the Internet and I think it’s about time to clarify things.  About three weeks ago I was stabbed multiple times outside of a party.  I can’t go into any details but I will say that I’m lucky to be alive.  I want to thank all my friends and band mates who saved my life.  I’m very sorry to leave you all to decipher whether the rumors were true or not for so long but I felt it was necessary to keep to myself for a certain period of time.

There’s no telling exactly when I will be well enough to perform again but Such Gold will be doing some dates in the month of May with one of my best friends Skylar, from an awesome Massachusetts based band called Building, filling in for me.  I ask that you treat him with as much respect as you would me or anyone in this band.  Again I’m very sorry to leave you to speculate on what happened for so long.  I can’t wait to get back on the road and hang with all the amazing friends and fans that I’ve met over these past few years.  I also want to thank everyone who did know about this for their love and support throughout these past few weeks.  Every day I wish we could be hanging out with The Wonder Years, Fireworks, Make Do And Mend and Living With Lions but soon enough Such Gold will be coming back harder than ever and I can’t wait!"

April 22nd, 2011:
Man Overboard Interview.

Interview from Property Of Zack:
The band is currently wrapping up their US tour with Senses Fail and Transit in the US. How have the dates been?
They’ve been awesome. We started out in PA and we’re in DC right now and tomorrow we go and play a different show in PA. Just two more shows left after that and it’s all done. It’s been great. We played all over California and all over the Southwest, which we hadn’t really been to since the Fireworks tour in the late summer. It was cool to get back and see some people. We’d been out of the country a lot since then. It’s been great.
POZ: These have been your biggest stages too, right?
Justin: Yeah. The place we played last night had a 1,500 cap. It was pretty big. That was one of the biggest shows we’ve ever played actually.
You went out with Senses in the UK back in February as well. Was that a success?
Yeah, that was awesome. We went with Transit and All Or Nothing in December headlining in small rooms and bars. It was cool to go back and do a support tour in bigger venues. That was a great tour.
You’ve always cited Senses Fail as a big help for the band. How did you guys set all of that up?
Zac is one of our principle songwriters and he’s always been a big fan of them. Pretty early on in our career Buddy hit us up and offered to help us with some stuff. He put us on a random show with them back in October of ’09 to come get people to see us play. He’s really been helping us out.
And before this tour Man Overboard did a short run with The Wonder Years and Handguns. Were those dates a fun start to your US touring?
They were awesome. The first three shows like Philly, Poughkeepsie, which you were at, and Worcester were sold out and were crazy insane shows. We were supposed to go to Canada for a few days, but because of some stuff with our singer Zac, we didn’t get in. So we took a day off and ended up playing a last minute house show thing. We met up with them for another two days too.
The announcement that you as well as Transit had signed to Rise came in early December and it threw many into confusion and a loss for words. Have fans seemed to come around to the signing at this point?
Yeah, I think initially we were worried that or fans were going to be pissed off that we signed to that label, but the biggest thing that we saw when we announced it was that kids that were fans of Attack! Attack! And stuff being like, “What the fuck?! Why is Rise signing this pussy shit.” It was kind of like the opposite. It ended up being pretty okay. Anyone that is naïve enough to think that we signed to a label and are going to turn into some shitty metal band is pretty idiotic. We signed to that label because we thought that the label would be able to work with us in a positive way.
How has your relationship with Rise been so far?
It’s been great. We were talking to them since February, so a year and two months ago. We ended up signing them in the fall and announced it in December. Everything’s been great. They’re super cool dudes and are really easy to work with.
“Driveway,” the first track off of your compilation, The Human Highlight Reel, was released yesterday through us. Have fans been into that so far?
It’s been great. I feel like every time we put up a song there has been an overwhelming amount of reception.
Are you pretty pleased with how that and the other new song as well as the cover turned out?
There’s another song called “Fear Of Flying” and there’s a Promise Ring cover song. I think they all came out pretty cool. All the old stuff on there too. Some b-sides, rarities, some old EPs.
The Absolute Worst was a much more light-hearted release compared to the record. Will the next LP be more serious?
I think it will. I think people like a fast song, so there will be some fast songs. That was the thing about Absolute Worst, one song was quick and easy to listen to. There might be some more in-depth emotional stuff on this one.
Will we be seeing any more touring besides Bamboozle before you hit the studio?
No, we’ll be playing one other random show in Pennsylvania, but other than that no. When we finish the LP we’re going to Europe with Polar Bear Club. We might do some other light touring at the end of the summer. We’ll be doing a big tour in the fall after the album comes out.

February 2nd, 2011:
Josh Farro announces new band.

In the wake of all the controversy stirred when Josh Farro (guitar) and his brother
Zac (drums) left Paramore, Josh has revealed that he’s started a new band
called Novel American. Farro says the band is influenced by the likes of Radiohead,
Jimmy Eat World and Explosions In The Sky. The band features Farro along with his
longtime friends Van Beasley (vocals), Ryan Clark (bass) and Tyler Ward (drums), formerly
of Nashville band Cecil Adora.

In a recent interview, Farro says, “Basically, I met these guys in high school—they’re
a little older than me, and that’s a big deal when you’re in high school, they were always
the cool crowd—but we connected after high school, and we got together after the whole
Paramore thing, and I was like, ‘I don’t know if I want to be in another band.’ But I
called the guys, we got together, we wrote and we jammed, and it was great, so we decided,
‘Let’s do another band.’ And, honestly, I had some ideas that just didn’t fit with Paramore,
and I said, ‘Guys, we can try these,’ and they just loved them, and so that’s really how it all started.”

Novel American are planning to record an EP and play locally as they build their sound.
As for his former band, Farro says it’s all in the past. “[Paramore fans] just don’t
want this to be some dragged-out drama-fest. They just want to move on. I watched
[“The Last Word” interview with Paramore on MTV] and, you know, I think we just disagree
on a lot of things, and that’s OK. I don’t think it’s wrong to disagree with someone, so, um, yeah, I just
wish them the best in the future, and I really don’t want to make it this huge drama thing,
because then it becomes this huge war, and I don’t want to dwell on that.
I’m more excited about the future and this new band.”

February 2nd, 2011:
All Time Low releases new info about their upcoming album.

All Time Low has become one of the biggest bands in the U.S. in large part to the
band’s online fan base through their hard work and through their old label,
Hopeless Records. Now though, the band has switched sides from hip indy, to major label.
And according to lead singer Alex Gaskarth, there’s reason to be excited.

“I’m really excited. Interscope seems to be very happy with everything. It’s a good fit.
It feels like a great new place for us to live for the time being. They’re really behind
what we do and it seems like everyone in our department has an aspiration to try and
make rock music more widespread again. There was a time when the Blink-182’s and
the Green Day’s and those kinds of bands were on mainstream radio and it’s changed so
much now. We’re kind of hoping to pick up where those guys left off. ”

The band’s first album for Interscope, titled Dirty Work will be released sometime around
the spring of 2011. And the album has Gaskarth excited about the direction of the band.

“It’s not vastly different. We definitely pushed ourselves musically more so than on the
last record. We really focused on writing songs that we felt were great songs universally.
Whether they were played the way we play them on the record or whether it was
performed acoustic or on a piano or whatever. It would be nice to write songs that can cross
over to any audience regardless to whether they listen to our niche of music or not. That was
a big point that we tried to address. It just feels like growth, I wouldn’t say it’s maturing,
we’re not going off in any weird directions or anything like that but we’re definitely
taking some chances. We’re just having fun with it really. ”

Expect a single to be released from All Time Low sometime in February before the album
comes out in the spring. The band will also be on tour (as usual) throughout 2011.

Title Fight have signed with SideOneDummy Records.

Title Fight have signed with SideOne Dummy.
You can read an official statement by clicking here or checking it out below:

The whole process of putting out our first LP has been such a long time coming and we
appreciate everyone’s patience so far. The past year and a half of our lives have been focused
around this record and with that came a lot of situations that we never thought we’d find
ourselves in. It’s some shit that we’ll tell our grandkids about. Anyway - what’s important
is that the recording process for our first full length record is finished. Walter Schreifels
produced it and Will Yip engineered it at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA.
SideOneDummy is putting it out. We couldn’t be more excited about that combination.
Everyone involved is on the exact same page as us and that’s what we have been
working so hard towards since we started even thinking about making this record.
We are happy to get things moving on such a positive note and with such an amazing
group of people. Keep your ears to the ground for more information and thanks to
everyone for everything.

The Dangerous Summer drummer announces departure.

Tyler Minsberg has announced his departure from the band.

He released the following statement:
"I feel it is absolutely my responsibility to both quiet any rumors and answer any questions regarding my participation with The Dangerous Summer. As of roughly over a month and half ago, I made the decision to sever myself from that band for personal reasons.

I’d like to thank from the bottom of my heart my fans, my family, my label, any industry personnel , and without any question the band that allowed me to live a dream that I had since I was a child. You all gave me an opportunity that I will never forget and that I can proudly say, I never took for granted. I learned about myself as a person, and as a professional musician through four great years of writing, recording, and performing live, a style of music that I felt perfectly fit the message that I wanted to help express.

The most important thing I hope is that none of you take this personally. You all did exactly what I wished from you and that was unconditional support. Please do not stop supporting this band, but do not think that I am finished with music. I have all different kinds of plans regarding my involvement in the music industry, and I hope that if I present you the audience with anything new, I can count on the incredible strength you gave me once again. I love you all. Thank you."

-Tyler Minsberg

Gwen Stacy announces break up.

Message from the band:

After six years, nineteen countries, countless US tours, two albums, and an EP, Gwen Stacy has decided call it quits.
We feel like now is the best time to end the band and pursue other options and directions in life. We would like
to thank everyone who has been involved with the bands career over the years. There are too many people
to thank everyone individually, but we would like to send a special thanks to past members TJ Sego,
Cole Wallace, Bobby Oakley, Josh Rickard, Mike Bryant, and Chris Suter, our manager Mark LaFay,
Carl Severson and everyone else at what was Ferret Music, Once Nothing, Life In Your Way, Poison The Well,
Haste The Day, Vanna, and every other band that we’ve been able to share the road with. Thank you as well to
anyone who came out to a show, bought a shirt or cd, sang along, let us crash on their floor, or was just
supportive in any way.

A few of the members will be starting new projects and we will be updating our pages as these projects start to
unfold. We want to assure everyone that we are splitting up on good terms. We’re all excited to see what everyone
has in store for their future endeavors. Be sure to keep checking back to follow up with what everyone is doing.

Our last show will be Saturday November 20th at Rhino’s, 331 S Walnut St. Bloomington, IN. Please come out

and get gross with us one final time.

Thanks again for everything,
Brent, Geoff, Patrick, Matt, and Brett

November 3rd, 2010:
Jack Barakat from All Time Low talks about their new album.

Would you guide us through the writing and recording process for the new album?
Jack Barakat: This album was much more focused on Alex’s writing and less of a band thing.

It’s a record that has been bounced back and forth between touring and writing. Recording on the road
while touring is virtually impossible, for our band at least. So a lot of the writing process was Alex writing
songs and us going into the studio to put in our two cents and changing a couple things around.

In an interview with AbsolutePunk earlier this year, Alex said that the tentative release for Dirty Work was in January of next year. Is this still the case? It was rumored that the album would be released on January 17th, but that was quickly dismissed.
No, we’re probably looking at an early Spring release. I think it’s better for

All Time Low because we’re a Summer band, and I feel uncomfortable, among other reasons, releasing
an album in Winter.

Stylistically speaking, do you think Dirty Work will satisfy fans who prefer your back-catalog releases such as Put Up Or Shut Up, The Party Scene?(or even So Wrong It’s Right for that matter?)
I like to explain Dirty Work as a mix of our older records and our new stuff. I think everyone

is going to be stoked. It should attract a bunch of new fans. It appeals to a much larger audience than our
last record.

NeverShoutNever announces new band.

Christofer Drew announced that NeverShoutNever played their last show on October 28th, 2010. Starting from now on, the band will be known as Christofer Drew and the Shout. Check out the interview below.

How is it playing on tour with The Maine?
They're cool guys, trying to make real music just like us.

What can people expect from your set?
It's just chill. We play some new songs, play old songs.

You're also playing with Carter Hulsey, who you grew up with and signed to your Loveway Records imprint. How is it touring with him?
He's bad-ass. He's my roommate. He plays great music, and he's trying to do the folk thing.
Why was having your own label important to you?
So I could sign my friends and put out my friends' music.

You're really prolific, constantly writing songs and putting out new music and videos. Do you ever get writer's block?
Not really. I don't really try (to write). (When I try), that's when I start writing weird songs.
What inspired your latest album, Harmony?

I guess just life at the time and emotions I was feeling and things I was going through and my friends and observations.

What do you hope people take away from the album?
Just feeling something. It's hard to feel these days, so as long as they feel something from it.

You've said you're going to go in a rock direction with your next record. Why?
I'm kind of sick of this band and the negative connotations with the band. I want to start over and start something new. I think people have the wrong idea about us. I want to bust out the Stratocaster and play some feel-good shit. I'm just a kid playing music. There's a bunch of kids playing music, and if (my fans) are really into this acoustic stuff, they can find 100 other kids doing it.
